Recently Loren installed our home alarm system. He was thorough and patient with my questions as he explained what we needed. The job was completed efficiently and professionally. No mess...no fuss after he left.

Alpha Alarm added a surround sound system to our home. His work was very clean, he was reliable and he picked up after himself.....how often do we see that in contractors??? We love our system and he has been attentive to our questions and/or changes we requested. I also used them to install security cameras at one of our offices. Reliable, dependable and great job. The system works great! I am currently working on having him take over our monitoring system at church because of his great service.

Being the largest taxi company in San Francisco, supporting more than 500+ vehicles and drivers, requires extensive coverage and protection, and not just for liability reasons. Parking, fueling stations, garage, body shop, parts room, cashiers office and more requires state of the art technology for proper coverage.

Antiquated System = Frustration

The task at hand was to completely redesign their existing CCTV system, including upgrading existing Axis cameras into current megapixel technology. In the past, when an incident occurred and needed to be reviewed, the client was faced with the daunting task of first “guessing” a timeframe when the incident may have occurred, then downloading short one minute quicktime videos to review. If they were lucky, this only took several hours to find the incident. Their storage time left much to be desired as well.

At the time, the client had 30+ standard resolution cameras, viewing areas such as their entry/exit, parking areas, CNG fueling, and other important areas of interest. The coverage was pretty good, but they wanted better, and also clearer. Gary Lawhon of Alpha Alarm & Audio, working closely with Carey Lefebvre of Exacq Technologies, would soon come up with a perfect solution that not only met their current needs, but exceeded, and also allowed for future expansion.

We Need Horsepower

We needed raw processing horsepower. Before meeting with Exacq, other vendors were brought in to demonstrate their products, all failing. When you have 30+ megapixel cameras, all running at mpeg4, full resolution and frame rate, you need a real workhorse NVR. After a few days of deep discussions, data calculations, and exploring any and all options, Carey recommended the IPS8000. Voicing our past vendor failures and concerns, Carey didn’t even flinch, and flat out told us that this will handle our needs, period, end of story. His confidence in his product also instilled confidence that we were dealing with the right company, finally.

Installing the Exacq Unit

The installation of the unit went flawless, and it was surprisingly easy and straight forward to set up. The menu layout was logical, the options we needed, such as frame rate, motion, event detection, etc. were all their and easily accessible. I’ll be honest, I was a little worried that it was so simple to set up! We had scheduled to meet with one of the vendor reps that morning to help set up the machine, but he was running late, and by the time he arrived we were up and going, solid!

Success!

Our client has nothing but great praise for Exacq, as so do we! To note, we stumbled on Exacq through speaking with many camera manufacturers, vendors and suppliers. After visiting ISC West, the CCTV convention in Las Vegas, and speaking with CCTV contractors such as ourselves, we were very happy to hear that the Exacq name came up in every single conversation! At that point, we knew we had made the right product choice for our client!

Now, when Yellow Cab has an incident, it’s literally a matter of seconds to find it and download it to a storage device. Viewing from remote locations is also much better than previous systems, and they are also set up to view via their smart phones as well.

I have a large family that includes three teenage girls. After a few unexplained instances left us uneasy about the safety of our house, we called Alpha Alarms to get a system to set our minds at ease. His original quote was more than satisfactory, and his prompt service, professional attitude and the final product was above and beyond my expectations, far exceeding my personal experience with several other alarm companies over the past twenty years. The installation and final "look" of the system was also amazing looking.
